  I have been a patient of Pivotal Health Cleveland for a couple of years. During my appointment today with my specialist, I had forgotten to bring my referral. When I asked the receptionist from the specialist office to call my doctor hoping that they can simply email the document, I was shocked to discover that there was a $20 fee for this to occur.
  
  Being involved in the Redland Area Health Industry and having practiced for over 23 years, I have dealt with such situations many times before. However, I have NEVER EVER charged any of my patients for a repeat referral or prescription simply because they misplaced it. It is a courtesy and part of the service as a health provider and patients pay enough for their medical and dental bills. No patient expects to be required to pay for such a trivial service which takes less than 2 minutes, to locate the letter on the computer and email that across. Even my specialist and those working at the practice were shocked to learn of the fee implemented by Pivotal Health. As a health care provider like any other business, you should go beyond and extend your care not in a monetary sense, but as a simple gesture. Moreover, such service doesn’t have an allocated Medicare item number because as a health provider it is common practice.
  
  Such poor patient service is very very disappointing and I believe that Pivotal Health needs to review this policy.
